Chateau Pape Clement (Шато Пап Клеман) - одно из самых старинных гран крю Бордо. Виноградник в этом поместье был разбит ещё в XIII веке Бертраном де Готом (Bertrand de Goth), младшим сыном одной из знатных бордосских семей. В 1305 году Бертран получил папский титул, став Клементом V. До Французской революции шато принадлежало архиепископу Бордо. Впоследствии Chateau Pape Clement стало первым приобретением Бернарда Магреза (Bernard Magrez), который сегодня является его хозяином и продолжает винодельческие традиции этого славного поместья, создающего вино вот уже семь столетий.
Особенности производстваРучной сбор урожая. Сортировка ягод. Прессование целых ягод в условиях инертного газа с постепенным и медленным увеличением давления. Перемещение прессового сусла в бочки для ферментации осуществляется под действием гравитационных сил. Дебурбаж и винификация во французских дубовых бочках. Созревание на тонком осадке с регулярным батонажем. 15% вина винифицируется в бетонных резервуарах нового поколения, имеющих яйцевидную форму. Период созревания составляет 18 месяцев.
ОрганолептикаБлестящий соломенно-золотистый цвет. Аромат с волнующими оттенками нектара белых цветов, нотками апельсиновой, грейпфрутовой и лимонной цедры. Насыщенный вибрирующий вкус с тонкими нюансами поджаренных тостов и цитрусово-фруктовыми тонами, придающими изысканную свежесть.
ТерруарВозраст виноградных лоз: 25 лет. Площадь виноградника: 7.2 га. Урожайность: 29,5 гл/га. Плотность посадки: 7 200 лоз на гектар. Почвы: глинисто-известняковые с частичным включением пиринейского гравия эпохи позднего плиоцена и густыми глинами антропогена.

«The Mystery Wine! A classic and beautiful Graves at its apogee. On hindsight, there was a similarity between the 06 Pape Clement and this one, both being my favourites of the evening, though the tertiary aromas of the '90 were on centre stage. My guess of a 1989 Saint Estephe was very close on the vintage and still on the left bank so I was happy but even more so, relieved that I didn't make a fool of myself! »

«A very enjoyable, and very complex, 21 year old red blend from Pessac Léognan, Bordeaux. Showing red and black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco, dark peppercorn, dark coffee, forest floor, green vegetables, graphites, vinaigrette and spices. «Priviliged to taste Pape Clement from a top vintage (année solaire). 55% CS and 45% Merlot. 18 months of new oak. Extra ordinairy phenolic ripeness and deep concentrated cassic and bramble flavours. Opened too young of course but greatness is around the corner within a few years. Made in a modern way with the help of Michel Rolland. A few micro bubbles applied for sure for subtle extraction. »

«94 Points - With a history reaching back to the Popes of Avignon, this estate has operated since the 1300s under the name of its most famous owner, Pope Clement V. A gorgeously fresh Bordeaux that must have enjoyed impeccable cellaring. A balance of vibrant violets and potpourri, with red berries, prunes, tobacco, cigar box, mulled spices and leather. The tannins were resolved but still gripping, and I suspect that with even another 10-15 years of perfect conditions this could continue drinking well. »

«Pape Clément 2015; this was a great vintage for Pape, comparable to 2010. Made at very high standards; 18m 70% new oak. 43 different plots in the blend. 53/47 CS/M. Dense and promising, cassis, cedar, smoke, ripe fruit. Med fine grainy tannins (excellent). Well integrated acids and ripe fruit tones. 14,5% abv well integrated. A top wine with potential. 17 pts as is. @ Chateau.»

«1990 dinner: Pessac Leognan It didn't immediately strike me as coming from the Graves area of bordeaux, I (wrongly) guessed it to be Pauillac. A point Bordeaux which does fit the vintage profile. Despite the modest alcohol level it is pretty full bodied and ripe with a lot of black fruit and spiciness and smoke. Classic and classy.»

«95 Points, drink now until 2030. Deep purple coloured with no rims. Expressive nose of red and black berries, cherry and licorice, coffee and oaky notes, speck and smoke, tobacco leaves and dill, also earthy notes. Very punchy on the tongue, but still also elegant in the concertation, all very well integrated and in place, this is one of the greatest 2012 Bordeaux you can possibly find under €100. Finishing long and fresh, on it's way up!»
